Kiahuna Golf Club is located in sunny Poipu Beach and surrounded by the lush, natural beauty of Kauai. The course offers challenging resort golf within a fascinating area of ancient Polynesian archaeology, as it is structured around the remains of authentic Hawaiian culture. This challenging course has narrow fairways and you will encounter unusual obstacles such as lava walls and stone structures.
The Kiahuna Golf Club is a sanctuary for many of Kauai’s endangered species including the state bird of Hawaii, the Nene. The Black-Crowned Night Heron can be seen fishing along the clubs numerous water hazards. Golfers may also spot the rare Hawaiian Stilt and the very shy Moorhen along Waikomo Stream.
Poipu Bay Resort
After your round enjoy lunch at the Poipu Bay Resort and take time to make use of the resort facilities.
Day 4
1 Round of golf at Princeville Makai Course
The Makai Golf Course in Princeville re-opened in January 2010 after a multi-million dollar renovation that reconfigured two 9 hole courses into one beautiful 18 hole course. Improvements include newly reshaped bunkers, two large practice tees and a expanded practice putting green, not to mention all of tee boxes replaced with Seashore Paspalum, a drought resistant grass that is so smooth it feels as if you’re putting on carpet.
One of the 7223 yard par 72 Makai Course’s signature holes include the challenging Par 3 third, where the tee is about 100 feet above a protected green. Other recognized holes include 7, 13 and 18, where there is an abundance of scenic views of towering mountains, Bali Hai and world-famous Hanalei Bay. Just looking down at the breaking surf below the cliffs will be sure to provide you with an experience you’ll never forget.
Day 5
1 Round of Golf at Hokuala Ocean Course
Hokuala (Formerly known as Kauai Lagoons) is a lush, 750-acre resort carefully secluded in the southwest corner of the island of Kauai, Hawaii. Fairways weave through mango and guava tree forests along imposing ocean cliffs and over promontories high above the harbor.
It is said that when legendary golfer and architect Jack Nicklaus created the original Kiele Course in the late 1980’s, the terrain lent itself so well to his vision that he made but a single change to his original design. In 2011, Jack Nicklaus was again called upon, this time to redesign the back nine of his famed Kiele course. Included are all new greens, new white silica sand bunkers and three new holes. Arguably the best new feature is an additional ocean hole that is now the centerpiece of what is the longest stretch of continuous ocean holes of any course in Hawaii, now making four fabulous holes which provide over 1/2 mile of unobstructed oceanfront.
Day 6
1 Round of Golf at Poipu Bay Resort Golf Course
Poipu Bay Resort Golf Course was the home of the PGA Grand Slam of Golf from 1994 – 2006. The course has won numerous awards and is consistently rated among the top golf courses in Hawaii and the U.S.
This outstanding course is backed by lush emerald mountains and sculpted from a rolling plateau eight stories above the Pacific Ocean. Nestled among the gentle contours of Poipu Bay you’ll discover the remains of Hawaiian heiau (places of worship) and ancient stone walls. You also may even see rare Hawaiian Monk Seals, native Nene Geese, Green Sea Turtles or Humpback Whales. Whichever it may be you’ll have plenty of good excuses to back your scorecard, as sometimes even the most focused golfer can be challenged by the breathtaking views this course has to offer.
